Catholic Advocacy Day
February 20 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Thursday, February 20, 9am–4pm
Join with members and staff of Catholic parishes and organizations as we bring the Gospel message of care for our sisters and brothers to Olympia. This year’s theme is Catholics for the Common Good. Issues to be addressed include affordable housing, human trafficking, the death penalty and care for creation. We need your partnership to promote this important advocacy effort!
As in previous years, there will be simultaneous translation in Spanish. Please note, there will be no Mass, but the day will include prayer as part of the gathering in the Columbia Room at the Capitol.
Events include issue briefings, legislative visit training, and meetings with legislators.
REGISTER by February 7 at www.ipjc.org/cad.
CONTACT (206) 223-1138 or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
The IPJC schedules over 130 appointments with legislators. Everyone from the same district will meet together with their legislators. Even if you do not feel comfortable speaking on an issue, know that your presence will witness to your concern and commitment.
The week before Catholic Advocacy Day, you will receive an email with details on the schedule, bus locations, departure times, etc. By registering you commit to attend the day, and we will make appointments and transportation arrangements accordingly. We understand that circumstances can change, but no-shows can create problems with legislative appointments. If you register and find you are unable to attend, please let the IPJC know.
